YEAR 7 & 8 SCIENCE
Science Inquiry and Investigation
This session combines instruction, completion and assessment of the Scientific Inquiry process, with students completing an experimental report that covers all aspects of the Science Inquiry curriculum.
Our tabletop hydraulic flumes are an excellent multi-variable apparatus that allows each student group to complete an inquiry with a degree of choice, choosing independent and dependent variables.

In this 90-minute session, along with supplied pre and post work, students work in groups to:
-
familiarise themselves with the operation of the tabletop hydraulic flume,
-
decide upon a testable question and plan their investigation,
-
complete their investigation and report using EngEd's online reporting software, and
-
submit their report to our online system for distribution to classroom teacher for assessment purposes.

This seamless lesson is an excellent complement to a Science Inquiry unit, or as a launching point for quickly teaching science inquiry skills.
Pre-incursion class learning material is provided to maximise learning outcomes from our visit.
